“To me, taking this class was a new experience. This was my introduction into the medical field. Nurse T embraces her students in a way that makes you feel like she’s your sister or mother.
During our third day of clinical I experienced post-mortem care and I won’t lie. When I realized that Nurse T was about to make me do post-mortem care I almost quit the class. I wanted to leave so bad but through the nerves and the tears she grabbed me by the hand and made me feel like everything was gonna be okay. And it was. She broke me of that fear I had going into this field. We provided post-mortem care with ease and when we were done the resident looked beautiful. I would not have been able to do it without Nurse T.
Also being in class with Nurse Fudge and Ms. Felicia and Ms. Elmira were all great experiences. Just listening and watching all of these successful black women speak and teach this class was a beautiful thing and it made me want to strive that much harder to reach my goals. I would recommend this class to anyone looking into becoming a Nurse Aid or Nurse.”
